In Spain, there is a Residence Authorization in the Entrepreneurs Law that allows all foreigners who wish to do professional internships in Spain to realize their dreams of getting to know the Spanish work environment. For this purpose, the government provides a RESIDENCE card (not a stay card for studies) to the candidates. There are two main ways to obtain this residence card:

- By agreement: An agreement signed by the institution or company in which you will work where it is established that the reason for the internship is to increase the applicant's knowledge.

- By contract: In this modality, the institution or company gives you an employment contract in accordance with Spanish labor regulations. This would make you a regular employee of the company, just like any other Spanish citizen.

Who can apply?

Those foreign students who have completed their studies at a higher degree institution (bachelor's, master's or doctorate) in the last two years prior to application. ‍

What documents do I need to submit?

- Form EX - 01 (Application for temporary non-profit residency) duly completed. You can find this form here.
- Degree/certificate proving that you have completed your higher education.‍
Internship agreement/contract including:
- Description of activities.
- Duration of the internship.
- Timetable.
- Working conditions.
- Certificate of no criminal record.

- Proof of sufficient financial means for your stay in Spain for the duration of the internship.

Payment of the fee:
- 15.75 euros for six-month stays.
- 21.44 euros for stays of one year.

It is important to emphasize that this residency has a maximum duration of one year and that you must submit your application 60 calendar days before the start of the internship. Now you have all the knowledge to expand your knowledge and professional skills in Spain!
